© Copyright Rude Health and licensed for re-use under a Creative Commons Licence.

This route was launched in 2016 as an ultra fell running challenge under the umbrella of the '10 in 10' series of annual and anytime challenges created by Yvonne Booth. The series was devised to raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis in response to her husband Duncan's diagnosis in 2010. This circuit weaves together the three '10 in 10' routes to form a classic mountain challenge from the Swinside Inn in the Newlands valley near Keswick. Simon Booth, Duncan's brother, devised the route and first completed it in June 2015 in just 8 hours 20 minutes. The challenge which can be attempted at anytime involves climbing 25 tops, crossing 39 miles of mountain terrain and ascending 17,000 feet.  A Roll of Honour board is maintained at the Swinside Inn while a leader board on the official website (see below) recognises the best times in all age and gender categories.

Route

The object is to visit the 25 summits listed below starting and finishing at the Swinside Inn, Newlands valley.  Use OS Explorer maps (1:25000): The English Lakes - north-western area OL4 and south-western area OL6.
